The Voyage of the Scalloped Hammerhead Shark
We educate and inspire young people by running activities in harmony with the environment.
Nursey grounds are considered critical habitats for this species, as future generations of reproductive adults depend on the juvenile survival.
Everybody is invited to learn why our ocean is in danger and why it is so critical to make a change now.
We travel around Costa Rica to inspire youth and children about our ocean. We aim to provide new and unforgettable experiences for students, by giving dynamic presentations, interesting facts and lectures about our blue planet and our sharks. We often include special guests such as national park rangers and we provide fun games for the children, including painting, interactive demonstrations and murals with well-known artist Carlos Hiller.
By sharing our knowledge and passion, we can provide fresh inspiration, education and motivation for today and tomorrow's future generations.

The book tells us of an amazing night experience, when Adonay takes his granddaughter Luna fishing for the first time in Golfo Dulce. Throughout the story, the grandfather explains to Luna about the importance of responsible use of marine life, about the life cycle of the hammerhead shark and the importance of Golfo Dulce as a breeding area. He describes the migration that the species carries out between coastal and oceanic waters, as well as the threats it faces due to human action.

The education of future generations will make positive and long-lasting changes. We educate and inspire young people by running activities in harmony with the environment. Getting people passionate about the protection of hammerhead sharks is our main weapon against illicit fishing activities.

Government Institutions
Since we began, we have worked hard
to improve the skills and knowledge of Governmental Institutions.
By doing this, we help improve the protection of endangered species and the management of coastal-marine resources. Also, we foster the collection of the most accurate national data on marine populations and habitats, especially ones most exploited by overfishing.
navigate_beforenavigate_nextnavigate_beforenavigate_nextTraining for Rangers and Coastal Guards
By sharing our research results and collaborating with different governmental institutions, we can evaluate and learn from the progress of our new ideas.
In 2016 in cooperation with the Costa Rican Ministry of Environment, we developed and implemented the official national training course for rangers in Marine Protected Areas.
